Marcel Sitcoske Art Advisory is a consulting
and curatorial firm providing artwork in all media for residential,
corporate, and public projects. Drawing from over 20 years
of involvement in the ever-changing art world, Los Angeles
based Marcel Sitcoske brings her unique perspective, expertise,
and access to primary and secondary markets.
During the 1980s Marcel lived and worked in New York
establishing early relationships and contacts. At that time
the city provided the creative playground in which artists
and galleries supported each other. Marcel had the opportunity
to both know and manage material from well-established artists
such as Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Jean-Michel
Basquiat, and Keith Haring. At Bardamu, her experimental Soho
gallery, Marcel was instrumental in identifying and championing
emerging artists such as Kate Shepherd, Vik Muniz, Fabian
Marcaccio, Stephen Dean, and Lydia Dona, who have gone on
to have illustrious careers with solid museum representation
and blue chip status.
After leaving New York Marcel proved herself to be a visionary,
curating groundbreaking solo and group shows at her prestigious
gallery in San Francisco. Throughout the 1990s and early
2000s, Marcel Sitcoske Gallery notably exhibited Jean-Michel
Basquiats

first solo exhibition of paintings and drawings
in San Francisco. Other notable solo shows included vital
work of artists Ray Charles White, Emil Lukas, and Julian
Lethbridge.
Her pioneering group shows were celebrated. Re: Rauschenberg
explored the broad and far reaching influence of Rauschenbergs
practice on younger artists including Jack Pierson, Jessica
Stockholder, James Hyde, and Lydia Dona. Lets Get
to Work was a survey exhibition of young British artists,
many of whom had never exhibited in the United States including
Richard Woods, Simon Starling, and Ian Dawson. The tension
filled yet exhilarating exhibition Attack: Attraction explored
the relationship between painting and photography, highlighting
work by Gerhard Richter, Vik Muniz, and Hiroshi Sugimoto.
These cutting edge exhibitions brought new depth to the scope
of art previously experienced in San Francisco.
Marcel continues to expand her global reach, both advising
and acquiring for first time buyers who are developing their
collection, and evaluating and potentially restructuring the
collections of both well-established private and corporate
collectors.
